Yesterday was mostly a fail.
Yesterday was the Orlando Rise Against show with the Menzingers. Since I’m down in Ft. Laud, I had to drive up. This is how my drive went.
- Got directions using my tablet and decided to take the Turnpike
- Got redirected and taken off the turnpike for whatever reason
- Tablet lost the directions and then my map closed.
- Got lost for about an hour without directions
- Missed the entire Menzingers set and wanted to cry
- Shot ADTR, got a shot or two that I pretty much died over
- Shot Rise Against, couldn’t help my stopping to sing along
- Ran upstairs to watch the rest of their set
- On the verge of tears when Tim played Audience of One acoustically
- Was amazed that Give It All was not played last, or even in the encore, for the first time that I’ve ever seen them.
- Was fairly pleased with their set and the mixture of old and new
- Started to drive home lost
- Pulled into a McDonalds so I could get WiFi and check directions
- Got pulled over by a cop simply for my plate being in my window (I wasn’t doing anything wrong)
- Found out my license was suspended
- Got lost for another hour and nearly ran out of gas
- Spoke with a friend who calmed me down slightly and got my mind off shit
- Stopped to put $9.80 in because that’s all I had
- Drove to my uncles, terrified I was going to run out
- Found a gas station that takes speedpass and filled up
- Continued to drive home slowly (for me, 70 is slow)
- Got home at 4:40
I wish I’d just waited till April to see them. Don’t get me wrong, the show was wonderful, I just don’t think it was worth all the trouble of last night. I now have no license. ://
